TECOM-SMIP Program
What is TECOM-SMIP?
The Training and Education Command (TECOM) Sports Medicine Injury Prevention (SMIP) Program focuses on the enhancement of the overall performance and effectiveness of US Marines through a multidisciplinary approach.
Athletic Trainers will function as integrated members of a Brigade-based multi-disciplinary team.TECOM-SMIP Performance Teams will generally consist of the following personnel: Physical Therapist, Registered Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, Cognitive Performance Specialist, Athletic Trainer, and Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Optimize Marine personal readiness

Optimize physical and non-physical performance

Reduce injury rates, particularly over-use MSKI rates

Rapidly rehabilitate and recondition Marines following injury

Improve overall Marine and unit morale and effectiveness
